Dave Henderson's 3rd Test preview
England are now 2-0 down. They need to win the next 3 tests in a row to reclaim
the Ashes.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that they probably won't do it. OK I suppose that ANYTHING is possible (I mean look, even Simon Davis
once played a Test Match) but for this current crop of circus freaks to bowl out
Australia twice and score more runs than us? There is more chance of Pauline
Hanson gaining some credibility than that happening. This series is falling down flat, so I think it might be time to inject some fun back into
things.
With that in mind I prepose the following:
1. Bring back Tufnell
2. Make him Captain
3. Put Paula Yates in the side. After all, she is the only Pom who has managed
to bring home some Ashes from Australia. YES YES YES I know she is dead, but she would still have better footwork than Craig White.
4. Henry Blofeld - let him open the bowling.
5. Drop Matt Hayden (sorry, just can't help myself)
3rd test prediction: Australia to bat first and make 4/663 Slater, Steve Waugh
and Ponting to score centuries. England 320 and 117. McGrath breaks Thorpe's hand - in the carpark after day 3. Atherton to cry like a girl when he
is told that he will have to Captain England in the 4th test.
